image of lmeA native New Mexican, Lisa's practice is devoted to civil litigation, particularly the ongoing representation of Native American governmental clients in matters which include tribal sovereignty, employment, taxation, jurisdiction, natural resources, health law, fiduciary duty, and federal appeals. Recent representative matters include facilitating a land exchange between the Navajo Nation and the New Mexico State Land Office of key acreage in the Eastern Navajo Agency; successfully defeating the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's attempt to invalidate Navajo preference in employment for on-reservation businesses in a case which was heard three times by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals; and working with tribal health care entities to establish employment procedures and protocols and employment agreements for medical professionals.

Based in Santa Fe, Lisa has been practicing law for almost 30 years. She is an honors graduate of the University of New Mexico School of Law and AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She is also a Board Member of the Santa Fe Community Foundation and the Lensic Performing Arts Center.
